As we approach the one day of the year set apart for giving thanks, what are we thinking about?
Is it the rush of Christmas? The lure of presents?
Or the exciment of seeing family members?
It's okay to be looking past this day and towards the future. But why not take a moment and be grateful for these holidays?
Dr. Crockett has said in a chapel service that I attended, "Ingratudie is a wicked sin."
It's real. God punished the Isrealites for bieng ungrateful for heavenly bread! This was the best food on the planet, but they rejected it.
If you're excited about seeing family, how about thanking God for bieng able to? If you're looking forward to presents, thank God for giving the funds to buy those presents!
And the greatest thing you can be thankful for is the greatest gift of all: That of salvation. The thing is, we often take this for granted. Yet, this is the thing to be most grateful for.
What are you going to give thanks for this week?
