You may have heard of C. S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia. But in my opinion, they aren’t his best work. Nay, the best work of his was The Space Trilogy.
Lost among the cyberspace, mostly unknown, this rich work portrays outer space and spiritual warfare in a way that will change your life.
First is Out of the Silent Planet. The first book in the trilogy, it has rich worldbuilding and a language you can actually speak, knowing what you are saying. And the conflict! Ransom undergoes deep internal and external conflict during the story.
Then we have Perelandra. Set on Venus- aka Perelandra- we have a paradise like the garden of Eden. But here, Ransom can stop the bentness from coming. The internal struggle of his decision coupled with an amazing end battle, it will make you think.
That Hideous Strength is the final- and thickest- book of the series. Set on Earth, we have prophecies, N. I. C. E. and even a waking of Merlin- not to mention the easter eggs for Tolkien fans. And the way it ends! A gray ending with hope but not finality. It’s awesome.
So what are you waiting for? Go storm the library, the bookshop, Amazon, and buy these books for yourself. You won’t regret it. Besides, no directors have ruined it with a movie yet.
"Besides, no directors have ruined it with a movie yet." Yes! :-)
